Men's Basketball Adds Game Wednesday Vs. Pace

Tip-off set for 6 p.m. at Lumsden Gymnasium; will be Wildcats' first game since Dec. 20

AMHERST, N.Y. - The Daemen men's basketball team will host Pace in a non-conference game Wednesday, January 5 with tip-off set for 6 p.m. at Lumsden Gymnasium. The addition to the Wildcats' 2021-22 schedule was announced by head coach Mike MacDonald late today and it comes following a myriad of postponements related to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Daemen has been idle since posting a 74-64 win at District of Columbia on December 20. The victory evened the Wildcats' overall record at 6-6 while pushing them to 4-0 in East Coast Conference play for the first time since the 2014-15 campaign. After returning from the NCAA-mandated holiday break, Daemen had non-conference contests against Stonehill (Dec. 30), Saint Anselm (Jan. 1) and Clarion (Jan. 3) postponed in accordance with COVID-19 protocols.

Pace has been similarly affected. The Setters (8-2, 4-0 NE10) have had four games postponed in the last month and have not played since suffering a 70-67 loss to Felician on December 9.

All spectators must be masked inside Lumsden Gymnasium. The game will also be available on the ECC Network - the official digital streaming platform of Daemen Athletics and the ECC.
