Daemen Ranked Seventh In Off The Block National Poll

AMHERST, N.Y. -  The Daemen men's volleyball team is once again ranked seventh in the Off The Block Division II Coaches Poll. Off The Block is a website solely dedicated to the coverage of collegiate men's volleyball which is releasing its Division II national poll each Wednesday during the 2022 season.

It marks the eighth straight week that the Wildcats have been included in the poll and their fourth straight No. 7 ranking. The Wildcats have climbed as high as No. 6 in the poll this season. Winners of nine of their last 10 matches, the Wildcats have posted an 11-3 record so far this season. 

Led by head coach Don Gleason, the Wildcats have won 30 of their last 35 matches dating back to early February of 2020, including 18 straight victories against Division II and III opponents. The Wildcats were the only NCAA Division I-II team to finish the 2021 season without a loss.

Both NCAA Division I and II men's volleyball programs compete for the same national championship. The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) National Coaches Poll ranks the top 15 Division I-II men's volleyball teams and is released each Monday during the regular season.

A national voting committee comprised of coaches from the more than 25 Division II teams determines the weekly rankings for the Off The Block Division II Coaches Poll.

The Wildcats return to action Thursday (Mar. 17) when they meet Purdue Fort Wayne.
