All five matches were of the traditional team variety as the Wildcats book-ended losses to Mercyhurst (1,008-817) and Medaille (917-891) around a trifecta of victories. The Wildcats defeated Roberts Wesleyan (848-830), Penn State Behrend (918-844) and Pitt-Bradford (840-715). After one day, the Wildcats sit in fourth place out of eight competing teams in the total pinfall standings. Mercyhurst tops the standings with a total of 4,969 pins. The Lakers are followed by Medaille (4,742) and D'Youville (4,342). Today's results sends their season record to 45-32. The Wildcats have already eclipsed the program record for wins in a season, set in 2019-20 when they posted a 40-34 record. Junior Caitlyn Nowak (West Seneca, N.Y.) was the most consistent performer for the Wildcats today, posting a team-high 185.8 average across the five matches. She rolled a 199 in the win over Penn State Behrend and followed up with her best round of the day, rolling a 203 vs. Pitt-Bradford. Classmate Paige Bartosz (West Seneca, N.Y.) overcame a slow start and finished the day with a 183.2 average. After posting rounds of 146 (vs. Mercyhurst) and 157 (vs. Roberts Wesleyan), Bartosz erupted for a 243 game, leading the Wildcats past Penn State Behrend. It marked the best score for any Daemen player today. Graduate student Alex Hasiotis (Rochester, N.Y.) chipped in a 170.6 average. Sophomore Mollie Gizicki (Brighton, Mich.) also saw action in all five matches, roling an average of 164.6. Tournament play resumes tomorrow at 9:40 a.m. with four Baker format matches on the docket followed by a final positional round.
