HOUGHTON, N.Y. -- The Daemen College women's tennis team picked up its first win of the spring portion of its 2021-22 season and improved to 5-9 overall following a 9-0 victory over Houghton College in an inter-divisional matchup tonight at the Kerr-Pegula Field House on the Houghton campus.

NOTES
- Tonight's match was the third of seven on Daemen's spring schedule.
- Daemen improved to 7-0 all-time against Houghton, an affiliate of NCAA Division III and the Empire 8 Conference.
- Rubio evened her singles record to 8-8 on the year and has now posted a team-leading 16 victories (combined singles/doubles) this season. She has also now posted 29 career combined wins, moving her into seventh place in program history. Her 15 career singles wins also ranks seventh in program history.
- Stasiuk remained unbeaten in singles play this spring and improved to 7-5 in singles play on the year. She now has 14 wins this season and 81 in her career (combined singles/doubles). She ranks third in program history and is just three shy of tying Gretchen Ringler for second. Stasiuk's singles win was the 46th of her career which ranks second in program history. She is now just one singles win shy of tying Hayle Scanlan's program record (47) for most career singles wins.
- Freshman Kitsa Scime (Williamsville, N.Y.) improved to 2-1 this spring and 6-8 overall in singles play.
- Freshman Yinett Del Leon (Cape Coral, Fla.) and juniors Mackenzie Schayes (Honeoye Falls, N.Y.) and Hannah Pagano (Goshen, N.Y.) all picked up their third singles win of the year tonight.
- Schayes and Pagano picked up their first doubles win of the year tonight following an 8-1 win at No. 3 doubles.

Daemen is idle until March 31 when it travels to Virginia to take on Shenandoah University and Southern Virginia University in non-league tilts.
