FLUSHING, N.Y. – The Daemen University men's tennis team saw its 2021-22 campaign come to a close with a 4-0 loss to top-seeded and host Queens College in the semifinal round of the East Coast Conference tournament at the QC Tennis Center this morning.

Entering play as the fourth seed, this marked the second consecutive year where Daemen qualified for the ECC Conference tournament for men's tennis. With the victory, Queens, who are ranked 38th in the latest ITA Division II national poll, now aim to hoist the conference championship title for a fifth consecutive year when they face either No. 2 St. Thomas Aquinas or No. 3 District Columbia this Saturday, April 30 at 12 p.m.

All but the No. 1 – 3 singles and No. 1 doubles matches were completed before the Knights earned the four overall points to secure the victory and advance to the championship.

Today marked the second match between the Wildcats and Knights in just a six-day span – a 7-0 Queens victory on April 23. That encounter marked Daemen's final regular season match of the season.

Today was also the 12th all-time meeting between the Wildcats and Knights and the third meeting this spring alone. This was also the first time these teams met in postseason play. Overall, Queens is now 12-0 in the series, which began on April 11, 2014.
