2022 Road Schedule For Women's Soccer Announced

6/9/2022 1:51:00 PM

AMHERST, N.Y. - The Daemen University women's soccer team will play 10 road games during the upcoming 2022 season, head coach Dan Dolan announced today. It marks the first time that the Wildcats will play double figure road contests since 2019.

The Wildcats will play non-conference road games against Bentley (Sept. 3), Southern New Hampshire (Sept. 14), Cedarville (Sept. 21), Mercyhurst (Sept. 28) and Assumption (Oct. 4). In East Coast Conference play, the Wildcats are slated to visit Queens (Sept. 17), St. Thomas Aquinas (Oct. 1), Molloy (Oct. 8), Roberts Wesleyan (Oct. 22) and Staten Island (Oct. 26). The road schedule will see the Wildcats play in five different states, highlighted by trips to the Boston and New York City metropolitan areas.

The three Northeast-10 Conference opponents - Bentley, Southern New Hampshire and Assumption - are all first-time foes for the Wildcats. Last season, Daemen picked up their first-ever win over Mercyhurst - a series that dates back to 2007. And the Wildcats will meet Cedarville for the first time since 2010 when both were members of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics and the now-defunct American Mideast Conference.

Daemen is set to return 23 players, including 10 starters, after posting a 9-6-1 overall record and a 7-1-1 conference record in 2021. Among the returners are the team's top five point producers and six players - Tori DeLappi (Medina, Ohio), Alyssa Diaz (Rochester, N.Y.), Julia Eichel (Grand Island, N.Y.), Tatyjana Scalisi (Williamsville, N.Y.), Grace Stranahan (Grand Island, N.Y.) and Baylin Tighe (Tonawanda, N.Y.) - who earned All-ECC honors.

The home portion of the Wildcats' 2022 schedule will be announced at a later date.
