AMHERST, N.Y. - The Daemen University women's soccer is ranked among the top Division II teams in the East Region by the United Soccer Coaches (USC). It marks the first time the Wildcats have appeared in the regional rankings since the end of the 2019 season. Daemen is ranked No. 10 in the poll released this afternoon.

The Wildcats are one of the hottest teams in the region, having won five-straight games and going unbeaten over their last seven (6-0-1). Daemen is coming off a big 4-1 win over Molloy University, which was ranked No. 10 in last week's poll, at Karrer Field this past Saturday. The win moved the Wildcats to 6-3-1 overall and kept them undefeated (4-0-0) in East Coast Conference play. The Wildcats have outscored their opponents 21-4 during their current unbeaten streak. Sophomore Kylie Miranto (North Tonawanda, N.Y.), a two-time ECC Offensive Player of the Week selection, has registered a point in each of the last six games and leads the ECC in goals (9) and points (21). Freshman Magda Carpenter (Lebanon, Conn.), a two-time ECC Rookie of the Week selection, scored twice in the win over Molloy and ranks second in the league in goals (5) and points (12). Sophomore goalkeeper Becca Schultz (Grand Island, N.Y.), a three-time ECC Defensive Player of the Week selection, has played every minute in goal this season and has allowed just four goals over the last seven games. Among the ECC leaders, she ranks first in save percentage (.853), second in both total saves (64) and wins (6) and third in goals against average (1.10).

Daemen will face a tough test on Wednesday when it hosts Adelphi University in a non-conference game. The Panthers stand at 8-1-1 overall and 5-0-1 in the Northeast-10 Conference. Adelphi is ranked second in the region this week and was No. 15 in last week's USC Division II national poll.

Undefeated College of Saint Rose tops the regional poll, followed by Adelphi, Jefferson University, Saint Anselm College, Franklin Pierce University, Roberts Wesleyan University, Wilmington University, Southern New Hampshire University, the University of Bridgeport and Daemen.
