Daemen dropped to 5-4 on the year, while Le Moyne improved to 2-1. The match was played under NCAA Division I/II scoring rules and the Le Moyne claimed the doubles point after winning all three matches. Daemen's No. 1 singles team of senior Frida Rubio (San Diego, Calif.) and junior Kitsa Scime (Williamsville, N.Y.) saw their four-match winning streak come to end following a 6-3 loss to freshmen Lilia Raiss and Ella Fernando. Daemen's No. 2 doubles team of junior Yinett Del Leon (Cape Coral, Fla.) and freshman Maya Chon (Wichita, Kan.) also had a winning streak snapped, as their five-match streak was ended by sophomore Stella Simeonova and graduate student Francesca Lilliegren (6-0). Le moyne completed the sweep after senior Fiona Pepper and junior Isabella Barona defeated sophomore Carly Armitage (Rochester, N.Y.) and junior Emily Jablonski (Alden, N.Y.), 6-1. Rubio and Scime both turned in solid efforts at No. 1 and No. 2 singles. Rubio dropped set one to Raiss, 6-1, but battled back in set two before falling 7-5. Scime posted a 6-3 win over Fernando in set one, but Fernando answered with a 6-2 win in set two and completed comeback with a 10-2 win in the tie-breaker. The loss snapped Scime's six-match winning streak. Le Moyne picked up straight-set wins in the remainder of the singles matches. MATCH NOTES The match marked the ninth all-time meeting between the two schools. Le Moyne has prevailed in all nine meetings. Scime droped to 10-3 on the season. She ranks fifth among Daemen's all-time leaders in career singles wins (33) and is now 28-10 in her last 38 singles matches dating back to the end of her freshman season. Daemen is idle until Friday (Oct. 20) when it hosts Queens College in an East Coast Conference match at Miller Tennis Center.
