Daemen Keglers Cap Fall Season With Dual Match Against Redhawks

GATES, N.Y. - The Daemen University women's bowling team closed out the Fall portion of its 2023-24 schedule this afternoon with a dual match against rival Roberts Wesleyan University. The match took place at ABC Gates Bowl.

The host Redhawks won two of the three matches. RWU opened the match with an 876-866 win, and then followed with a 951-844 victory in game two. Daemen avoided the sweep with a 927-827 win in game three. All three games were scored using the traditional match format.

Daemen has won 11 of its last 14 matches and stands at 27-17 on the year. The host Redhawks are now 26-16. Daemen has now prevailed in 14 of the last 17 matches between the two rivals and the Wildcats now own a 37-19 advantage in the all-time series.

HIGHLIGHTS
  • Freshman Cassidy Papero (Cheektowaga, N.Y.) and graduate student Caitlyn Nowak (West Seneca, N.Y.) played in all three matches.
  • Papero bowled a 204 in game one and capped her day with a 200 in game three. She totaled 556 pins for a three-game average of 185.33.
  • Nowak bowled a 172 in game two and totaled 488 pins for a three-game average of 162.66.
  • Senior Mollie Gizicki (Brighton, Mich.) rolled a team-high 257 in the game three and totaled 416 pins over two games for a 208.00 average.
  • Sophomore Kayla Richardson (Webster, N.Y.) and freshmen Chelsea Porga (Welland, Ontario) and Brenna Forsha (Tonawanda, N.Y.) all competed in two matches. Richardson rolled a 184 in game one and totaled 345 pins. Porga posted a 188 in game two and totaled 347 pins. Forsha rolled a 162 in game three and totaled 314 pins.
  • Sophomore Mackenzie Hutchins (Wheatfield, N.Y.) competed in game two and roiled a 171.
