The teams traded goals early in the game, before the Wildcats rattled off six unanswered goals. An unassisted goal by Decatur with 11:14 left in the second quarter capped the run and gave the Wildcats a 7-1 lead.

The Fighting Scots got back-to-back goals by freshman Caroline Zentis to cut the lead to 7-3, but Daemen closed out the half with five unanswered goals and the Wildcats took a 12-3 lead into halftime.

A free position goal by Bacher with 4:27 left in the third quarter gave Daemen a 15-4 lead and the Fighting Scots came no closer than nine goals after that.
