Daemen and D'Youville are both members of the East Coast Conference, but tonight's match was a non-conference tilt. Daemen improved to 6-11 with the win, while the Saints closed out their season at 1-10. Tonight's match marked the ninth all-time meeting between Daemen and D'Youville. The Wildcats posted a 5-2 conference win last fall and have prevailed in all nine meetings. Daemen won all three doubles matches to earn the one point as per NCAA Division II scoring. The Daemen tandem of sophomore Kitsa Scime (Williamsville, N.Y.) and freshmen Carly Armitage (Rochester, N.Y.) posted a 6-3 win over Yuliia Kashtelian and Khushi Agarwal at No. 1 doubles. Seniors Mackenzie Schayes (Honeoye Falls, N.Y.) and Ailish McDevitt (Jamesville, N.Y.) downed Paola Ermina and Taylor-Anne Austin, 6-1, at No. 2 doubles. Schayes and McDevitt were both honored before the match in recognition of the final home match of their Daemen careers. Daemen claimed a win by default at No. 3 doubles. Daemen completed the win by taking the first four singles matches. Junior Frida Rubio (San Diego, Calif.) defeated Kashtelian (6-4, 6-1) at No. 1 singles, while Scime downed Agarwai at No. 2 (6-1, 6-2). Sophomore Yinett Del Leon (Cape Coral, Fla.) defeated Ermina at No. 3 (6-0, 6-0) and Schayes took down Austin at No. 5 (6-1, 6-3). Daemen claimed a win by default at No. 5 and No. 6 singles. Scime improved to 14-6 in singles play this year and is now 17-7 in her last 24 singles matches dating back to the end of last season. Her 14 wins this season rank as the second most in a single season in program history. She has moved into the Top-10 in both combined singles and doubles wins (38) and career singles victories (22) among Daemen's all-time leaders. Rubio picked up her 24th career singles victory today, while Schayes earned her 20thcareer singles win.
