It marked the 450th career win for Daemen head coach Mike MacDonald, who has now amassed a 450-306 record over his 27 year career. Daemen, which entered the game ranked eighth in the East Region by the Division II College Sports Communicators (D2CSC), improved to 14-6 overall and 4-3 in the ECC. The visiting Lions dropped to 3-15 overall and 1-6 in the league. IMPACT PLAYERS Hemphill connected on 9-of-15 shots and also grabbed eight rebounds. Glover went 8-of-15 over, canned three three-pointers, handed out four assists and collected four steals. Senior Andrew Mason (Webster, N.Y.) went 4-of-7 from downtown and totaled 16 points, five rebounds and two assists. Graduate student Joey Atkins (Watervliet, N.Y.) added eight points, five rebounds and three blocks. Freshman Zach Philipkoski (New Hartford, N.Y.) contributed eight points, three rebounds and four assists. Fifth-year senior Nick MacDonald (Amherst, N.Y.) netted five points and grabbed eight rebounds. He now stands 11 points shy of 1,000 for his career. Freshman Bryce Merchant paced the Lions Lions with 16 points. GAME NOTES It marked the 22nd all-time meeting between the Wildcats and the Lions. Daemen swept the season series this year and owns a 14-8 advantage in the all-time series. Daemen has limited 11 of its 20 opponents to less than 70 points and leads the ECC in team defense, allowing just 70.6 points per game. The Wildcats are 8-1 at home this season and have won 17 of their last 18 home games dating back to last season. They are 100-19 (.840) at home during Daemen's NCAA Division II era (2015-present). Molloy held a 13-10 lead six minutes into the game when a layup by Glover sparked the Wildcats on an 18-4 run. Five different players scored during the rally and a layup by Hemphill—off a feed from Glover—with 4:24 left before halftime capped and gave the hosts a 28-17 lead. Daemen would eventually take a 34-18 lead into the break. Molloy cut the lead to single digits, 42-33, at the 14:17 mark of the second half, but Daemen regained control with a 20-9 run over the next six minutes. A layup by Atkins off a feed from Philipkoski capped the run and gave the Wildcats a 62-42 lead. Daemen maintain a double digit lead the rest of the way. Daemen shot 48-percent (34-71) from the field overall and made 11-of-27 from three-point land. The Wildcats canned 5-of-9 from the charity stripe. Molloy shot just 41-percent (23-of-57) overall and made 4-of-23 from downtown. The Lions made 8-of-9 from the charity stripe.
