Women's Bowling Closes Out Destination Florida Tournament

ORLANDO, FLA. – The Daemen University women's bowling team ended their weekend on a high note, defeating Florida A&M 4-2 in their final match of the 2024 Destination Florida Tournament, hosted by Sacred Heart University.
 
The Wildcats finished in 23rd place after the dust settled at the three-day tournament. Jacksonville State emerged as tournament champions with Vanderbilt and Nebraska rounding out the top three. Of the three matches Daemen played today, one was scored using Baker Format and the final two was Baker Format best-of-seven
 
HIGHLIGHTS
• The Wildcats opened the day against the 2024 national champion runner-up, #2 Arkansas State. The Red Wolves commanded a 403-275 lead after two games and never looked back to secure the 897-755 win.
• Seeded against Prairie View A&M in their first of two Baker Format best-of-seven matches, the two sides split the first four games. The Panthers rebounded in game five with a 156-130 win before taking the sixth game to win the series, 4-2.
• Daemen wrapped up the weekend playing Florida A&M in their final match of the tournament.
• The Wildcats ended the weekend on a high note, sweeping the Rattlers, 4-0, highlighted by a 243-138 win in game three, to finish in 23rd place.
• The victory against Florida A&M marked the first 4-0 Baker Format best-of-seven victory for Daemen since Feb. 20, 2022, when they swept New Jersey City during the Wildcat Division II Invitational.   
 
UP NEXT
The Blue and White return to Western New York to compete in the Niagara Brunswick Fall Open, hosted by nearby Niagara University, from Nov. 2 through Nov. 3.
