Four Players Earn 2024 CSC Women's Soccer Academic All-District Honors

AMHERST, N.Y. – Four members of the Daemen University women's soccer team earned 2024 College Sports Communications (CSC) Academic All-District honors, recognizing their combined achievements on the field and in the classroom.

Magda Carpenter (Lebanon, Conn.), Becca Schultz (Grand Island, N.Y.), Madita Zeitz (Malsch, Germany) and Ramone Trentin (Sãl Leopoldo, Brazil) all earned the award. For Carpenter and Trentin, it was their first time earning the honor in their Daemen careers. As for Schultz this is her second time getting named to the all-district team while it is the third appearance for Zeitz.

To be eligible for Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must be a starter of important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average, and they must have reached sophomore athletic eligibility. Select Academic All-District honorees will advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. Academic All-America honorees will be announced in early December.
 
One of four players to start and play in all 18 games, Carpenter ended the year ranked second on the team in points with 12 and bagged two game-winning goals, good for seventh in the conference at the end of the regular season. The Lebanon, Conn., native tallied three of her four goals this season during conference play and provided an assist in both of the Wildcats postseason contests.
 
Trentin earned her first CSC Academic All-District honor to pair with her first appearance on the All-ECC Second Team earlier this year. Trentin started all 18 games this season, one of four players to accomplish the feat. The senior bagged a goal against Roberts Wesleyan on Sept. 24 and dished out an assist in Daemen's 3-0 win over St. Thomas Aquinas on Sept. 28.
 
A cornerstone of the Wildcats midfield, Zeitz earned her third career CSC Academic All-District distinction after earning the award the past two seasons. An All-ECC Second Team selection this past year, Zeitz ended the year with seven points, highlighted by a goal against Queens in the ECC Championship semifinal. She notched a single game career-high three assists against Staten Island earlier in the year on Sept. 21.
 
The conference leader in total saves with 155, Schultz ended the regular season ranked third in the nation for total saves and fifth nationally in saves per game. The Grand Island product started all 18 games in net for the Blue and White this season, collecting five clean sheets in the process. The junior keeper made a career-high 16 saves on 41 shots against No. 7 ranked Gannon on Oct. 23 and was named the ECC Defensive Player of the Week three times this season, most recently for the week of Oct. 28.
 
This season, Daemen compiled a 9-9 overall record, highlighted by a near perfect 6-1 mark in ECC play, and made their second consecutive appearance in the ECC Women's Soccer Championship where they lost to Molloy.
