LOCKPORT, N.Y. – The Daemen University women's bowling team won four of their five matches to sit in first place after day one of the Daemen Storm Fall Classic. All five matches were traditionally scored as well.
 
Two Daemen bowlers also landed on the all-tournament team with graduate student Mollie Gizicki (Brighton, Mich.) and junior Bailey Glass (North Tonawanda, N.Y.) receiving the honors. Gizick finished the day third overall for total pins with 1,046 while Glass knocked down 1,022 to land in fourth.
 
HIGHLIGHTS:
• Daemen opened the day with a 1,000-941 victory over RV Lewis. In the match, three bowlers tallied 200 pins-or-more with Glass leading the way with 251 total pins.
• The win marked the first time Daemen knocked down 1,000-or-more pins since they downed D'Youville, 1,030-902, back on Oct. 5 at the Mercyhurst Invitational.
• The 'Cats kept rolling with a 987-977 win over regional rival Roberts Wesleyan before falling to Saint Anselm, 1,020 – 933.
• Daemen rebounded in their next game with a 972-951 win over Walsh. Gizicki and Glass led the Blue and White with 226 and 214 pins respectively.
• The Wildcats ended the day with a 928-775 thumping of Hilbert with Brenna Forsha (Tonawanda, N.Y.) leading the way with 208 pins.
