BACK IN ACTION
The Daemen University women's bowling team returns to action on Saturday (Nov. 9) when they welcome local rival Roberts Wesleyan University to the Queen City for their lone dual match of the fall. The contest is set to begin at 10 a.m. with the match being
streamed as well.
LAST TIME OUT
The Wildcats posted a ninth place finish at the Niagara Brunswick Fall Open last weekend after defeating Pitt-Bradford, 4-0, in their final game of the day. It marked the second 4-0 Baker Format best-of-seven win for the Wildcats this season, with the first instance back on Oct. 20 when they swept Florida A&M on the final day of the Destination Florida Tournament. The Blue and White defeated the Panthers, 869-768, in their first match of the tournament and also earned wins against Penn State Behrend (805-800) and crosstown rival D'Youville (823-820).

Mackenzie Hutchins (Wheatfield, N.Y.) currently leads Daemen in spare conversion percentage at 67.4% while sophomore
Chelsea Porga (Welland, Ontario) has paced the Wildcats in total spares with 64 so far this season. Both bowlers have completed over 140 frames this season with Hutchins at 144 and Porga at 149 completed frames over halfway through the fall.
WILDCATS IN THE POLLS
The Daemen University women's bowling team was tabbed fourth in the 2024-25 East Coast Conference Women's Bowling Preseason Coaches' Poll, the league office announced on Sept. 30. It marks the third straight year that the Wildcats were predicted to finish in the top half of the league. It also marks the first time the Wildcats have been tabbed to finish in fourth since the 2018-19 campaign. Bryant University topped the poll with 76 points and seven of nine possible first-place votes. Kutztown University was tabbed second with 66 points and one first-place vote while Molloy University rounded out the top three with 60 points. Daemen was named fourth with 51 points and a first-place vote while local rival Roberts Wesleyan University rounded out the top five with 48 points. D'Youville University (40 points), Adelphi University (30), St. Anselm College (23) and St. Thomas Aquinas College (11) rounded out the remainder of the poll.

Amelia Ponto and sophomore
Rebecca Spry were all named to the ECC honor roll for Roberts Wesleyan. For Ponto, she led Roberts Wesleyan with a 180.2 Baker average, a 171.00 traditional team average and placed 25th (out of 77 bowlers) for the tournament. She bowled in every frame and rolled high games of 195 and had a 192 in the win over #12 ranked Mount St. Mary's.
