ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. – The Daemen University women's volleyball team fell 3-0 (17-25, 19-25, 18-25) on the road to Molloy University this afternoon in conference action. The Wildcats are now 9-12 overall and 5-3 in conference action, while the Lions move to 14-7 and 7-1 in the ECC.

Daemen took an early 3-0 lead in the opening set, but Molloy used a 7-0 run to go in front 7-3. The Wildcats attempted to chip away to cut the lead to three and trail 12-9, but the Lions tallied the next three points to push their lead to 15-9.  Molloy for the rest of the set was able to keep Daemen at arm's reach to go on to win 25-17 and take a 1-0 lead in the match.

Both teams found themselves tied at three in set two, but the Lions strung together a 7-1 run to break the tie and go up 10-4. Daemen worked its way back into the set to cut the lead to four and trail 14-10, but Molloy pushed its lead to 17-10 after tallying the next three points.  The Wildcats used a 5-1 run to cut the lead to three, but it was not enough, as Molloy held on for the 25-19 win and took a 2-0 lead in the match.

Looking to force a fourth set, Daemen opened up set three with a 4-1 lead. Molloy tied the set at four, but the Wildcats responded with back-to-back points to reclaim the lead. Both teams then found themselves tied at seven before trading points, only to be tied at nine after. Molloy used a 4-0 run to go up 13-9, but Daemen used its own run to cut the lead to 13-12 before tying the set at 14. Molloy held the edge at 18-17 before going on a 7-1 run to close out the set 25-18 and win the match.
