Daemen Joining Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference As Associate Member For Men's & Women's Tennis 11/20/2025 11:00:00 AM AMHERST, N.Y. - Daemen University will join the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference as an associate member for the sports of men's and women's tennis beginning in the 2026-27 academic year, Vice President of Athletics Traci Murphy announced today. Daemen will make the transition from the East Coast Conference along with fellow Western New York institution D'Youville University, bringing the PSAC tennis membership to eight men's programs and 14 women's programs. "We are very excited about the opportunity to join the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference for the sports of men's and women's tennis," Murphy said. "This move provides stability for our programs as we look to enhance the competitive opportunities for our student-athletes." "We're excited to welcome Daemen University and D'Youville University as associate members," said PSAC Commissioner Steve Murray. "Following the addition of Jefferson University and Chsenut Hill University as men's tennis associate members last spring, this continued collaboration reflects the shared responsibility conferences have to work together to stabilize sport sponsorship, particularly in Olympic sports. These partnerships strengthen competitive schedules, championship opportunities, and the overall student-athlete experience in PSAC tennis." Daemen established men's and women's tennis programs in 2012, joining the East Coast Conference for the 2013-14 academic year. This shift marks the first movement for the programs' conference affiliate since then. Daemen's programs will conclude their East Coast Conference affiliation with the Spring 2026 season. Daemen University features the premier NCAA Division II athletics program in the Buffalo-Niagara region, sponsoring 17 intercollegiate teams.
