Daemen Nabs a Pair of Wins During Day One of Hilbert Hammer Classic

KENMORE, N.Y. —The Daemen women's bowling team opened the Hilbert Hammer Classic with two wins on Saturday.

The first day of action featured traditional play, with Daemen posting a total pinfall of 4,285, good for fourth place.

The Wildcats began the day with a 922-831 loss to Saint Vincent before falling 836-755 to Mercyhurst. Daemen then bounced back, defeating tournament host Hilbert, 853-840.

After a 939-750 loss to Niagara, the Wildcats ended the day on a high note with a 1016-927 victory over ECC foe Roberts Wesleyan. It marked the first time since November 24, 2024, that the Wildcats had broken the 1,000 mark.

Individually, Sabrina Palmer (Waterloo, N.Y.) led the way for the Wildcats, placing third out of 61 bowlers with an average score of 192.20. She logged two matches with scores over 200, with a 211 against Saint Vincent and a 224 against Roberts Wesleyan.

Brenna Forsha (Tonawanda, N.Y.) placed ninth with an average score of 181.40. She recorded a score of 220 in the Wildcats' final match of the day against Roberts Wesleyan. Cassidy Papero (Cheektowaga, N.Y.) finished 15th with an average score of 169.40, while Mackenzie Hutchins (Wheatfield, N.Y.) placed 21st with a 156.20 average.
