Daemen Athletics Accepting Hall of Fame Nominations For Class Of 2025

AMHERST, N.Y. - The Daemen University Division of Athletics is now accepting nominations for its Hall of Fame induction class of 2025. An induction ceremony is tentatively planned for September in conjunction with the university's celebration of Founders Week.

This will mark the second class to be inducted since the Daemen Athletics Hall of Fame was relaunched in 2022 after nearly a decade of dormancy. The relaunch included an updated evaluation criteria and the introduction of a formal Hall of Fame Committee, as well as a complete overhaul of the physical Hall of Fame display. A significant facelift, funded completely through external revenue sources, which included a state of the art touchscreen display system as well as acrylic plaques, was unveiled within the Lumsden Gymnasium lobby in November 2022. That was followed by an induction ceremony in February 2023 - the first since 2014. The Daemen Athletics Hall of Fame includes 40 individual inductees, as well as one entire team.

Nominations for the next induction class are now open and may be submitted online through April 30. Nominations may be submitted by anyone with knowledge of a deserving candidate and will be accepted in a number of categories, including student-athletes, teams, athletics contributors and those deserving special consideration.

An announcement of selected inductees and the planned induction ceremony will be made at a later date.
