BUFFALO, N.Y. – Playing against Rockhurst University in a neutral site game at D'Youville University on Saturday afternoon, the Daemen University men's volleyball team beat the Hawks 3-1 (25-12, 25-17, 22-25, 25-14) to improve to 4-2 on the year.

- Schneider posted back-to-back .500 hitting percentages with his .517 clip today. He finished with 17 kills and just two errors on 29 attacks while being one dig shy of a double-double, totaling nine digs and adding a team-high four aces, one solo block and one assisted block for 22.5 points.
- It was a career outing for Bly today who posted a career-high nine kills with just two errors on 19 attacks for a .368 hitting percentage. The redshirt sophomore added eight digs, three assists and three block assists.
- Wieberg finished with nine kills on 16 attacks for a .375 hitting percentage, adding three digs, one solo block, one block assist and two assists.
- Sophomore middle blocker Ondrej Arabasz (Jicin, Czech Republic) finished with seven kills for a .417 hitting percentage, a team-high five block assists, one solo block, one ace and four digs.
- Sophomore setter Jariel Giraud (Orlando, Fla.) totaled 33 assists, six digs, three block assists, one ace and one kill on the day.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Trading points to even it up at 4 early, the Wildcats went on an 11-2 run off seven kills, three apiece from Bly and Wieberg and one from Schneider, to take a 15-6 lead over the Hawks. Daemen cruised to a 25-12 first set victory from there after hitting .391 in the first and totaling 12 kills. The Wildcats minimized the errors in the first set, totaling just five, while Rockhurst had nine attack errors and four service errors in the first.
- The second set started off close just like the first but stayed tight throughout the game. Daemen went on a 5-1 run to take a four-point lead in the middle of the set, but from there, the Hawks scored six of the next eight points to tie it up at 15. Daemen again took a three-point lead after a 4-1 run off two Schneider kills, and the Wildcats closed out the set scoring the final six points off two kills from Arabasz along with two Schneider aces to beat the Hawks 25-17 in the second. The Cats outhit the Hawks 14-10 in the set while hitting .500 and were led by five kills from Schneider and four from Bly.
- Rockhurst led for the majority of the third set and took as much as a 17-12 lead. The Wildcats took advantage of two Hawks errors and chipped in a Schneider kill to bring the game within two, 17-15 and force a Rockhurst timeout. The Wildcats and Hawks continued to battle throughout the third, but on Rockhurst's set point, Schneider kept the match alive with a kill to make it 24-22. The Hawks recorded a kill to take the third, 25-22 and force a third set.
- Daemen handled the fourth set from start to finish. The Wildcats hit .455 in the set and tallied 12 kills on 22 attacks while adding three aces in the fourth to beat the Hawks 25-14.
GAME NOTES
- The Wildcats were selected second in the 2025 Northeast Conference Coaches Poll. Daemen is the defending NEC Tournament Champions.
- Four different Wildcats recorded 10+ points today. Schneider led the way with 22.5 points while Arabasz finished with 11.5 and Bly and Wieberg both added 10.5.
- Daemen held their opponent to hitting under .200 for the second straight match, holding the Hawks to hit just .154 on the day off 26 kills with 28 errors on 117 attacks.
