Men's Tennis Falls At St. Lawrence

CANTON, N.Y. -- The Daemen University men's tennis team fell at St. Lawrence University in a 5-2 decision on Saturday afternoon to move to 0-4 in the spring championship season. 

The Saints took all three doubles matches to earn the first point of the match.

In singles, senior Juan Alvarez (Puebla, Mexico) won first singles for the fourth time this season in a 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 victory over St. Lawrence's Edvin Strandberg. Junior Rohan Chitanand (Den Haag, Netherlands) earned his first win at third singles in a 6-4, 6-7 (8), 11-9 thriller to win Daemen's second point of the match. Sophomore Lucas Garcia (Bogota, Columbia) took it to a tiebreak (6-3, 6-7, 10-6) but fell in third singles.
