BROCKPORT, N.Y. - The Daemen University men's track & field program continued their spring season with a trip to Brockport University to compete in the Brockport Multi over two days at Eunice Kennedy Shriver Stadium.
Graduate student
John Jaworski (Naperville, Ill.) and sophomore
CJ Johnson (Baltimore, Md.) each posted a pair of top five finishes to highlight the Wildcats efforts at the meet.
HIGHLIGHTS
• On the track, Jaworski placed third in the 100 meter dash with a final time of 11.05 seconds. The Naperville, Ill., native continued his impressive streak in his next race as he placed second in the 200 meters with a time of 22.52 seconds.
• His time of 22.52 seconds in the 200 meter dash ranks third all-time and moved Jaworski into sole possession of the top three times in program history in the event as well.
• As for Johnson, he placed second in the 5,000 meter (16:24.48) and fourth in the 800 meter (2:03.22) to continue his strong spring season. The Baltimore, Md., native has posted at least one top five finish in any event in all but one meet this spring
• Elsewhere on the track, sophomore
Owen Dernbach (Alden, N.Y.) posted a third place finish in the 400 meter (52.87). He also posted a 13th place finish in the long jump out of 27 jumpers with a final distance of 6.21 meters.
UP NEXT
The Wildcats will head to the other side of Amherst, N.Y., to compete in the UB Alumni Invitational, held at UB Stadium on the campus of the University at Buffalo, on April 18 starting at 3 p.m.
