Daemen Student-Athletes Post Highest GPA Since 2019 In Spring Semester

Wildcats Tally 24th Consecutive Semester Of 3.0+ GPA

AMHERST, N.Y. -- After an incredible Spring 2025 semester on the court, field and track for the Daemen University Division of Athletics, the semester was also wildly successful in the classroom. Daemen student-athletes achieved the best overall grade point average since 2019, accumulating a collective 3.45 GPA over the spring, along with every team finishing with a 3.0 or better in the semester. It marked the 24th consecutive semester that student-athletes achieved a 3.0 GPA or higher. 

The academic excellence also includes 20 student-athletes who achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA for the semester. Those with perfect semesters are from a broad cross section of the student-athlete body with 13 of Daemen's 17 intercollegiate athletic programs represented. Teams with 4.0 student athletes include men's cross country, men's indoor track & field, men's outdoor track & field, men's tennis, women's indoor track & field, women's cross country, women's outdoor track & field, women's basketball, women's bowling, women's lacrosse, women's soccer, women's tennis and women's volleyball. 

A total of 156 student-athletes individually achieved a GPA of 3.0 or higher during the semester. That represents 75-percent of Daemen's total student-athlete body. In addition, 108 student-athletes (52% of total) achieved a semester GPA of 3.50 or higher. At the conclusion of the Spring 2025 semester, 169 student-athletes (81% of total) hold a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, with 88 student-athletes (42% of total) holding a 3.50 GPA or higher. 

Daemen's student athletes have a fall and spring average of 3.37 for the 2024-25 school year.

All 17 of Daemen's intercollegiate athletic programs achieved a GPA of 3.0 or better this past semester:

  • Women's lacrosse (3.64)
  • Women's tennis (3.6)

  • Women's basketball (3.51)
  • Women's soccer (3.51)
  • Women's volleyball (3.41)
  • Men's cross country (3.39)
  • Men's soccer (3.37)
  • Cheer (3.32)
  • Men's volleyball (3.28)
  • Women's bowling (3.28)
  • Men's track & field, indoor and outdoor (3.24)
  • Men's basketball (3.1)
