AMHERST, N.Y. - The Daemen University Summer Track Series returns to the calendar for Western New York runners next month, Head Men's & Women's Cross Country/Track & Field Coach Pete Gratien announced today. Happening each summer since 2016, the Daemen Summer Track Series offers competitions for avid runners - both adults and children - on four successive Thursday evenings.

The Daemen Summer Track Series returns to Sweet Home High School with meets slated for July 10, 17, 24 and 31. Each meet is open to any and all interested participants, regardless of age or running experience. Events include sprints of 100 200 and 400 meters, middle distance runs of 800 meters and one mile. There will also be a 4x400 meter relay and, for the fourth straight year, the series includes field events, offering the long jump and shot put. All events will be timed with live results available at milesplit.com. 

A weekly registration fee will be charged to each participant, and all proceeds benefit the Daemen cross country/track and field program. Registration fees are done by age groups: $15 for ages 18+; $10 for ages 17 and under. Registration fees include entry for up to four events for each participant. 

Walk-up registration begins each Thursday at 5 p.m. with running events slated for a 6 p.m. start. The track is located inside the stadium at Sweet Home High School at 1901 Sweet Home Road.
