The opening day of the tournament featured four traditional-format matches and a blind round. The Wildcats opened the day with a 913-814 loss to Emmanuel (Ga.) before falling 1060-809 to #15 Neuman. Daemen then dropped a close 857-835 decision to Dominican (N.Y.). In their final match of the day, the Wildcats fell 911-757 against Felician. Daemen then competed in a blind round, knocking down 828 pins. Leading the way individually was Brenna Forsha (Tonawanda, N.Y.), with an average of 190.00, finishing in 13th place out of 54 bowlers. She posted scores of 207, 181, 187, 157, and a high score of 218 in the final round of the day. Cassidy Papero (Cheektowaga, N.Y.) placed 19th with an average of 184.20, posting scores of 180, 202, 216, 169, and 154. Rounding out the top three for the Wildcats was Mackenzie Hutchins (Wheatfield, N.Y.), who logged scores of 149, 163, 137, 187, and 178 for an average of 162.80, good for 32nd place. UP NEXT The Wildcats are right back to it for the second day of the Wildcat Invitational on Saturday. Daemen will compete in matches against Holy Family, Kutztown, Wilmington (Del.), and Adelphi.
