Wildcats to Compete at WNY Blizzard Cup on Sunday

BACK IN ACTION 
The Daemen University women's bowling team will stay local again this weekend to compete at the WNY Blizzard Cup hosted by D'Youville on Sunday. The tournament will feature all traditional format matches. 

LAST TIME OUT 
Daemen bowled at the Niagara Spring Classic last weekend. The Wildcats picked up two wins on the first day, defeating Roberts Wesleyan (895-811) and Hilbert (958-920). Leading the way individually for the Wildcats was Brenna Forsha (Tonawanda, N.Y.), who posted a 200.20 average, finishing in sixth place out of 69 bowlers. Forsha posted scores of 167, 231,159,198, and 246 for a total of 1,001. Cassidy Papero (Cheektowaga, N.Y.) finished 20th with an average of 182.00. She logged scores of 221, 169, 188, 157, and 175 for a total of 910. Daemen also earned a win over Roberts Wesleyan on Sunday, defeating the Redhawks 956-914 in a Baker Format match. Daemen ended the tournament in sixth place. 

ECC WEEKLY HONOR ROLL 
Forsha was named to the ECC Weekly Honor Roll for the second straight week on Thursday. Forsha posted a 200.20 average, finishing in sixth place out of 69 bowlers to lead the Wildcats during the traditional rounds at the Niagara Spring Classic. The junior posted scores of 167, 231,159,198, and 246 for a total of 1,001. Forsha helped Daemen earn wins over Roberts Wesleyan (2x) and Hilbert at the tournament.

BY THE NUMBERS 
Through this point in the season, Forsha is the team leader in strikes (331) and strike percentage (40.9%). Behind her is Sabrina Palmer (Waterloo, N.Y.), who has thrown 270 strikes and posted a strike percentage of 36.1%. Cassidy Papero (Cheektowaga, N.Y.) has recorded 261 strikes and a strike percentage of 33.9%. Forsha has completed 759  frames for the Wildcats this season, while Palmer has completed 741, and Papero has completed 758.  Mackenzie Hutchins (Wheatfield, N.Y.) is the team leader in spares (320), having completed 642 frames.

The Wildcats head to Rochester next Sunday to compete at the Redhawk Invitational.
