Despite a turnover, Daemen quickly regrouped, and Miranto scored at 7:17 with help from Day, making it 6-3 Roberts. RWU responded with back-to-back goals, pushing their lead back to five. However, the Wildcats capitalized on a free position shot by Schlesselman at 2:55, closing the gap before the quarter ended. The period concluded with Roberts leading 8-4.

Later in the quarter, Pollutro added to Daemen's tally with a goal at 5:37, further narrowing the gap. After a Redhawks goal, Daemen responded with Schlesselman's tally at 1:33, assisted by Day, pulling the visitors within two (9-7).
