AMHERST, N.Y. -- Five members of the Daemen University women's track & field/cross country team,
Lia Brasacchio (Victor, N.Y.),
Patsy Oberholzer (Greece, N.Y.),
Kylie Piekarski (Lancaster, N.Y.),
Becca Schultz (Grand Island, N.Y.) and
D'Naesha Quicksey (Buffalo, N.Y.), have been named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team, the organization announced on Tuesday afternoon. In order to be eligible for Academic All-District, the student athletes must hold a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or better and have posted a Top-50 individual performance at the 2025 NCAA regional competition for cross country or a Top-50 regional ranking in a single event (indoor or outdoor) this track season.
Lia Brasacchio, So., Victor, N.Y. -- In her stellar sophomore campaign, Brasacchio placed in the top three on the team in all six cross country meets and posted two PR's and placed 30th regionally at the 2025 NCAA Division II East Region Championships with a time of 23:55.4. Brasacchio posted four top-50 regional performances in the indoor and outdoor track season, finishing 27th in the East Region in the Indoor 800 meter run with a time of 2:26.66 at the ECC Indoor Championships as well as a 44th place regional finish with a time of 1:04.25 in the Indoor 400 meter run at the Highlander Invitational. In the 2026 outdoor season, Brasacchio finished 16th in the East Region in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:06.55 at the ECC Outdoor Championships and a 27th place finish in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:26.66 at the Charleston Golden Eagle Invitational. A Natural Science-Physical Therapy major, Brasacchio has maintained a 3.91 cumulative GPA.
Patsy Oberholzer, Gr., Greece, N.Y. -- In her fourth and final year with the Wildcats, Oberholzer posted her best season yet, finishing as Daemen's top runner in all six cross country meets, earning First Team All-ECC and USTFCCCA All-East Region honors as well as finishing with two personal records. She finished 13th in the 2025 NCAA Division II East Region Championships with a time of 22:48.7 to earn All-Region honors for the first time in her career. Oberholzer posted four top-50 regional performances in the 2025-26 indoor season -- three in the top-20 -- as well as three top-50 regional performances in the outdoor campaign, including a top-10 finish. Oberholzer finished 10th in the East Region in the Indoor 5000 meter run with a time of 18:49.55 (YSU Mid-Major Invitational), 16th in the region in the Indoor 3000 meter run with a time of 10:47.77 at the Highlander Invitational, 20th in the East Region at the Nazareth Challenge Cup in the Indoor mile with a time of 5:28.1, and a 36th place regional finish in the Indoor 800 meter run with a time of 2:31.51 at the Nazareth Challenge Cup. In her 2026 outdoor campaign, Oberholzer finished 6th in the East Region in the 10,000 meter run at the UB Alumni Invitational with a time of 38:41.79, an 11th place regional finish in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 18:16.03 at the UB Alumni Invitational and finished 21st in the regional in the 1,500 meter run with a time of 4:54.66 at the UB Alumni Invitational. A Natural Science-Physical Therapy major, Oberholzer has maintained a 3.97 cumulative GPA.
Kylie Piekarski, So., Lancaster, N.Y. -- Piekarski posted a solid sophomore season where she finished in the top five Daemen runners in all six cross country meets and finished 43rd in the NCAA Division II East Region Championship with a time of 24:34.2. She finished with four top-50 performances in the East Region in the indoor and outdoor seasons. Piekarski finished 13th in the East Region in the Indoor 5,000 meter run with a time of 19:38.64 at the ECC Indoor Championships and posted a 34th place regional finish in the Indoor 3,000 meter run at the Highlander Invitational with a time of 11:33.51. In the outdoor season, Piekarski finished 14th in the regional in the 10,000 meter run with a time fo 40:38.23 at the ECC Outdoor Championships and placed 19th in the region in the 5,000 meter run with a tim eof 19:28.42 at the UB Alumni Invitational. A Natural Science-Health Science major, Piekarski has maintained a 3.55 cumulative GPA.
D'Naesha Quicksey, Jr., Buffalo, N.Y. -- Quicksey posted her best track season yet in her junior year, placing in the Top-50 in the East Region in six events this year. She placed 20th in the region in the indoor weight throw with a distance of 9.93 meters at the ECC Indoor Championships, 26th in the region in the indoor triple jump with a distance of 10.10 meters at the ECC Indoor Championships, and 37th in the indoor shot put at the Nazareth Challenge Cup with a distance of 10.46 meters. In her outdoor campaign, Quicksey placed 21st in the East in the triple jump with a distance of 9.62 meters at the Charleston Golden Eagle Invitational, 22nd in the region in the discus with a distance of 32.03 meters at the ECC Outdoor Championships and 45th in the region in the hammer with a distance of 26.29 meters at the UB Alumni Invitational. An Accounting major, Quicksey has maintained a 3.53 cumulative GPA.
Becca Schultz, Sr., Grand Island, N.Y. -- Schultz earns CSC Academic All-District honors for the second time this year after earning it in Women's Soccer in the fall. In her senior year, she placed in the top-50 in the region in five different track & field events. In the 2025-26 indoor season, Schultz placed 24th in the East Region in the Indoor 60 meter hurdles with a time of 9.92 at the ECC Indoor Championships, she placed 37th in the region in the Indoor triple jump at the Nazareth Challenge Cup with a distance of 9.51 meters and 38th in the region in the indoor long jump with a distance of 4.92 meters at the Houghton December Classic. In the outdoor season, Schultz placed 22nd in the East in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 15.53 at the ECC Outdoor Championships and 48th in the region in the long jump with a distance of 4.59 meters at the ECC Outdoor Championships. A Business Administration major, Schultz has maintained a 3.92 cumulative GPA.
