BACK ON THE COURSE
The Daemen University men's and women's cross country teams are back on the course on Saturday, Sept. 26 to race in the Harry F. Anderson Invitational in Rochester, N.Y. on the Roberts Wesleyan XC Trails. The men's 8K race will begin at 10 AM, followed by the women's 5K at 11 AM.

LAST MEET OUT
The Wildcats are running in just their second race of the season. Daemen opened the season on Saturday, Sept. 5 at the Doug Watts Open in Edinboro, Pa. The men placed fourth place, while the women finished seventh.

In the men's 6K, the senior duo of CJ Johnson (Baltimore, Md.) and Ethan Keating (Wooster, Ohio) set a pair of top-10 finishes, placing second and third overall, respectively, in the race. Sophomore Simon Evans (Galway, N.Y.) finished third on the team and 32^nd overall (21:24.8), freshman Ryan Weller (Farmington, N.Y.) placed 50^th (21:56.7) in his Daemen debut, while fellow freshman Mike Gregoire (Amherst, N.Y.) rounded out the Daemen scorers finishing 64^th overall (22:52.5).

Daemen ran just five runners in the women's 5K, with juniors Lia Brasacchio (Victor, N.Y.) and Kylie Piekarski (Lancaster, N.Y.) along with freshman Julie Cruz (Williamsville, N.Y.) pacing the Cats to finish 27th, 30th and 33rd overall. Brasacchio led the Cats with a time of 21:03.6, just five seconds ahead of Piekarski who finished at 21:08.4. In her Daemen debut, Cruz posted a time of 21:19.3. The second pack featured sophomore Raegan Giardini (West Clarksville, N.Y.) who finished 48th (22:23.3) and graduate student Alexis Nguyen (Grand Island, N.Y.), racing in her first collegiate cross country meet, placed 52nd (22:36.7).

REGIONAL RANKINGS
The Daemen men are included in the latest regional ranking by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division II regional rankings. The Wildcat men moved up a spot from their preseason ranking to eighth in the East Region.

The Wildcats are off for a week and will race next in the Highlander Invitational in Houghton, N.Y. on Saturday, Oct. 10.
