Matt Hartman

Matt Hartman enters his third season as a member of the Daemen men's basketball coaching staff in 2023-24. Hartman assists in all daily operations of the men’s basketball program on and off campus. His responsibilities include on and off campus recruiting, on-court coaching, off-court coaching, practice planning, leading individual and small group workouts, film breakdown, scout preparation, game day coaching and coordinating travel. He has also aided Head Coach Mike MacDonald in running youth basketball clinics, summer camps and various other fundraising efforts to support the men’s basketball program.

Hartman previously spent four years as a volunteer student assistant with the men's basketball team at Hilbert College where he worked under the guidance of Head Coach Rob deGrandpre. He would earn his bachelor's degree in sport management with a minor in accounting from Hilbert in 2021.

He worked the inaugural NCAA Basketball Academy in the summer of 2019 and has worked several local and regional basketball camps in recent years. Well known in the youth basketball scene, he is currently an AAU travel coach and trainer with XGEN Elite. In the summer of 2022 he was one of 30 participants in the Jay Bilas Coaches Development Program in Charlotte, N.C.

Hartman played football and basketball at Springville-Griffith Institute in Springville, N.Y.
