Desmond Randall joined the Daemen University men's basketball staff as an assistant coach in the fall of 2025. Randall joins the Wildcat staff after over a decade in coaching, most recently serving as the head men's basketball coach at USCAA Division I Villa Maria College in Buffalo, N.Y. from 2019 to 2025. In his time at Villa Maria, Randall led the Vikings to a program-record 80 wins, including leading the team to a top-3 national ranking throughout the 2024-25 season where the Vikings finished the year as the National Champion runners up. He produced multiple All-Americans and Academic All-Americans while leading the Vikings to multiple Final Four and Elite 8 appearances in his tenure. Randall also served as the Director of Athletics at Villa Maria from 2020 to 2025.Â
In addition to collegiate men's basketball coaching, Randall has served as the head boys basketball coach and program coordinator for the Corey Graham Elite Extreme AAU team in the Under Armour Rise Circuit in Buffalo since 2016 where he leads evaluation and recruitment strategies for 17U programs while overseeing all team operations.Â
Prior to Villa Maria, Randall coached in the high school circuit around Western New York, serving as the head varsity boys basketball coach at West Seneca West High School (2017-19) and Bishop Timon-St. Jude High School (2015-17) and as an assistant coach at Canisius High School (2013-15) and West Seneca West (2012-13) as well as an AAU coach with Albany City Rocks 15U (2015-16) and Buffalo Bounce AAU, Upstate Basketball AAU and United Football League (2011-present).Â
Randall played NCAA Division I football at the University of Maine prior to graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and a minor in Childhood and Family Development in 2010.Â
