Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 CANTON, NY - The Daemen College volleyball team moved one step closer to joining the Wildcats' golf and women's soccer programs as USCAA National Champions today. Daemen closed out pool play in dominating fashion by besting Cincinnati-Clermont 2-0 (25-8, 25-5) before carrying their hot play over into the tournament quarterfinals with a 3-0 victory over Johnson & Wales (25-5, 25-5, 25-20). With the wins, Daemen (24-10 overall) advances to tomorrow's USCAA National Tournament Semifinals where they'll face Rochester College (Mi.) at 12pm.

Daemen, the tournament's top overall seed, got five kills apiece from Joanna Fretthold (North Tonawanda, NY/North Tonawanda), Lindsey Nowak (Hamburg, NY/Immaculata) and Ye Wang (Beijing, China/Hachioji Jissen) in the win over Cincinnati-Clermont which sewed up first place in Pool A.

Then, with the single elimination tournament underway, Nowak came through with 10 kills while junior Jenn Karan (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) chipped in with seven to push Daemen past Johnson & Wales.
