Wildcats Compete At Spire Collegiate Season Opener

GENEVA, Ohio - The Daemen College men's track and field team competed in their second indoor meet ever today by partaking in the Collegiate Season Opener event hosted by Spire Institute. 

Leading the way for Daemen today was sophomore jumper Sam Rugg (Freeville, N.Y./Dryden) who won the long jump (5.35 meters) and triple jump (11.64 meters).

Senior thrower Mark Fox (Dansville, N.Y./Dansville) took fifth in the shot put with a toss of 13.16 meters.

The event was dominated by unattached athletes as well as those from the University of Cincinnati of NCAA Division I.

The Wildcats are idle until a trip to Hamilton College Invitational on February 9.
