THE MATCHUPS: The Daemen College women's soccer team heads to Michigan for two United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) games this weekend...the Wildcats will face Rochester College Saturday at 12:30 p.m...Daemen concludes the trip at Cleary University Sunday at noon.
THE COACHES: Dan Dolan is in his fifth season as head coach at Daemen...the 2011 American Mideast Conference (AMC) Coach of the Year, Dolan has led the Wildcats to three consecutive winning seasons and owns a career record of 49-33-2 (.595)...he guided Daemen to the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) national championship last fall...Todd Stank is in his fifth season as head coach at Rochester College...Tom Hackenberry is in his first season as head coach at Cleary University...he is a graduate of Amherst (N.Y.) Central High School and played soccer at Buffalo State before transferring to the University of South Florida.
THE SERIES vs. ROCHESTER: Saturday's game will mark the first-ever meeting between Daemen and Rochester.

NCAA DIVISION II: Daemen is in Candidacy Year Two of the NCAA Division II membership process...Daemen has been accepted as a member of the East Coast Conference (ECC) and will play full regular-season conference schedules beginning this fall...the College will also maintain its affiliation with the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) for postseason opportunities, as it will not be eligible for the ECC or NCAA postseason during Candidacy Year Two.
THE WILDCATS (5-6-0; 1-5 ECC): Daemen lost six starters from last year's team that won eight of its final nine contests en route to the USCAA championship...the Wildcats were picked 10th in the ECC preseason poll...Daemen is ranked second in the USCAA national poll released Oct. 4...Daemen won three of its first four games, including a 2-0 win over Maine-Fort Kent in a rematch of last year's USCAA championship game...the Wildcats are just 2-5-0 over their last seven games, with all five losses coming against ECC opponents...Daemen dropped two of three conference games during a trip to the New York City area last weekend...the Wildcats opened the weekend with a 1-0 OT loss to New York Tech, before recording its first-ever ECC win following a 4-1 win over St. Thomas Aquinas on Saturday...the Wildcats concluded the trip with a 3-0 loss to defending league champion LIU Post on Sunday...Daemen's backline--led by juniors Hannah Fraser (Milton, Vt./Milton) and Meghan Diehl (Webster, N.Y./Webster Thomas) and redshirt-sophomore Meghan Lipinoga (North Tonawanda, N.Y./Canisius College)--has limited seven of DC's 11 opponents to one goal or less...redshirt senior Kacey Bougard (East Aurora, N.Y./Sacred Heart) and senior Samantha Engel (Dryden, N.Y./Dryden) have paced the offense...Bougard made the most of her first game action since 2010 with a "hat trick" and an assist in a 4-1 season-opening win over Alderson-Broaddus...she was named ECC Offensive Player of the Week and USCAA Player of the Week after totaling 10 points (4 gls, 2 asts) in a 2-2-0 week last week...she registered her second "hat trick" of the season in a 5-0 win over SUNY Canton on Oct. 1 and added a goal and an assist in the win over STAC...she has totaled a conference-best eight goals and 21 points on the year...Engel was named ECC Offensive Player of the Week and USCAA Player of the Week after totaling a goal and an assist in the season-opening wins over A-B and UMFK...she also scored the DC goals in losses to Queens and Molloy and has totaled 11 points (4 gls, 3 asts) overall...senior Alexa Amato (Grand Island, N.Y./Grand Island), who totaled a team-best 10 goals and 22 points last year, has missed the last nine games due to injury...redshirt freshman Kathryn Haessner (Moravia, N.Y./Moravia) has started all 11 games in net and made a career-high 13 saves in the loss to LIU Post last weekend...she made nine saves in the win over UMFK...that effort earned her ECC Co-Rookie of the Week honors...she owns a 1.63 GAA with two shutouts.
THE WARRIORS (2-11-0): Rochester is a NAIA Independent and a member of the USCAA...the Warriors lost their first nine games before posting a 2-1 victory over Defiance College on Sept. 21...the Warriors are coming off a 3-2 OT win over Cleary last weekend...freshman forward Sarah Economeas has scored eight of the teams nine goals thus far...she netted all three goals in the OT win over Cleary last weekend and scored both markers in the win over Defiance.
THE COUGARS (3-11-0): Cleary is a member of the USCAA...2013 is the first year Cleary is sponsoring women's soccer as a varsity sport...the Cougars opened their inaugural season with three-straight losses, before recording the first victory in program history following a 5-1 win over Grace Bible College on Sept. 3...Cleary has lost eight of its last 10 games and is coming off a 3-2 OT loss to Rochester College last weekend...freshman Shelby Marsh netted two goals in the history-making win over Grace Bible and netted a three-goal "hat trick" in a 9-3 loss to Indiana Tech on Sept. 24...she has totaled a team-high nine goals...freshman Adrianna Fidanza also recorded a "hat trick" in a 10-0 win over Andrews University on Sept. 22.
HONOR ROLL: Kacey Bougard was named ECC Offensive Player of the Week and USCAA Player of the Week after totaling 10 points (4 gls, 2 asts) in a 2-2-0 week last week...she registered her second "hat trick" of the season in a 5-0 win over SUNY Canton on Oct. 1 and added a goal and an assist in the win over STAC last Saturday.
DID YOU KNOW?: Daemen is 35-2-1 since the start of the 2010 season when it scores two or more goals...the Wildcats are 10-0-0 in the last 10 games in which they have scored two or more goals...Daemen has played eight overtime games since the start of the 2010 season and is 5-2-1 in those contests...Kacey Bougard leads the ECC in points (21), is tied for first in goals (8) and is tied for second in assists (5)...Kathryn Haessner ranks first among the ECC leaders in total saves (75) and fourth in save percentage (.824)...Samantha Engel has played in all 68 games (65 starts) since the start of the 2010 season and has totaled 86 career points (29 gls, 28 asts)...freshmen Kelly DuVall (Addison, N.Y./Addison) and Caitlyn Grover (Canandaigua, N.Y./Marcus Whitman) both netted their first career goals in recent games...Duvall scored in the 4-1 win over STAC last weekend, while Grover scored in the 5-0 win over SUNY Canton on Oct. 1.
WHAT'S NEXT: The Wildcats return to ECC play next weekend when they host Dowling College (Oct. 18) and the University of Bridgeport (Oct. 20)...both games begin at 11 a.m. at Dimp Wagner Stadium in Amherst.
