THE MATCHUP: The Daemen College women's soccer team caps off the 2013 regular-season Tuesday afternoon when it heads to Mercy College for an East Coast Conference match…game time is 12 p.m.

THE COACHES: Dan Dolan is in his fifth season as head coach at Daemen...the 2011 American Mideast Conference (AMC) Coach of the Year, Dolan has led the Wildcats to three consecutive winning seasons and owns a career record of 52-35-2 (.596)...he guided Daemen to the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) national championship last fall and recorded his 50th career victory following a 5-0 win over Rochester College on Oct. 12…Jonathan Feinstein is in his fifth season as head coach at Mercy and entered the 2013 season with a career record of 18-43-1 (298).

THE SERIES vs. MERCY: Tuesday's game will mark the first-ever meeting between Daemen and Mercy.

NCAA DIVISION II: Daemen is in Candidacy Year Two of the NCAA Division II membership process...Daemen has been accepted as a member of the East Coast Conference (ECC) and will play full regular-season conference schedules beginning this fall...the College will also maintain its affiliation with the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) for postseason opportunities, as it will not be eligible for the ECC or NCAA postseason during Candidacy Year Two.

THE WILDCATS: Daemen lost six starters from last year's team that won eight of its final nine contests en route to the USCAA championship...the Wildcats were picked 10th in the ECC preseason poll...Daemen is ranked second in the USCAA national poll released Oct. 18...Daemen won three of its first four games, including a 2-0 win over Maine-Fort Kent in a rematch of last year's USCAA championship game...the Wildcats are 5-4-0 over their last nine games and are coming off a 3-0 non-league win over Alfred last week...seven of Daemen's eight losses have come against ECC opponents...Daemen picked up its first-ever ECC win following a 4-1 victory at St. Thomas Aquinas on Oct. 5...ECC losses have come against Queens (3-1), Molloy (3-1), Roberts Wesleyan (4-0), New York Tech (1-0), LIU Post (3-0), Dowling (2-0) and Bridgeport (5-1)...Daemen's backline--led by juniors Hannah Fraser (Milton, Vt./Milton) and Meghan Diehl (Webster, N.Y./Webster Thomas) and redshirt-sophomore Meghan Lipinoga (North Tonawanda, N.Y./Canisius College)--has limited 10 of DC's 16 opponents to one goal or less...redshirt senior Kacey Bougard (East Aurora, N.Y./Sacred Heart) and senior Samantha Engel (Dryden, N.Y./Dryden) have paced the offense...Bougard made the most of her first game action since 2010 with a "hat trick" and an assist in a 4-1 season-opening win over Alderson-Broaddus...she was named ECC Offensive Player of the Week and USCAA Player of the Week after totaling 10 points (4 gls, 2 asts) in a  recent 2-2-0 week...she registered her second "hat trick" of the season in a 5-0 win over SUNY Canton and added a goal and an assist in the win over STAC...she has totaled a team-best 11 goals and 28 points on the year...Engel was named ECC Offensive Player of the Week and USCAA Player of the Week after totaling a goal and an assist in each of the season-opening wins over A-B and UMFK...she has totaled 18 points (7 gls, 4 asts) overall...senior Alexa Amato (Grand Island, N.Y./Grand Island), who totaled a team-best 10 goals and 22 points last year, has played in just four games this season due to injury…redshirt freshman Kathryn Haessner (Moravia, N.Y./Moravia) has started 13 games in net and made a career-high 13 saves in the loss to LIU Post...she made nine saves in the win over UMFK...that effort earned her ECC Co-Rookie of the Week honors...she owns a 1.56 GAA with two shutouts...redshirt senior Rachel Reichart (Marilla, N.Y./Iroquois Central) has appeared in eight games (three starts) and recorded her first career shutout following the 3-0 win over Alfred last week.

THE MAVERICKS: Mercy was picked sixth in the ECC preseason poll...the Mavericks return 18 players from last year's team that posted a 5-12-1 record (1-6-1 ECC)...the Mavericks opened the year with six-straight wins, before suffering a 2-1 loss to nationally-ranked Bridgeport on Sept. 28…Mercy rebounded with three-straight wins over Nyack (2-0), Queens (2-0) and Dowling (1-0 2OT), before suffering a 3-1 loss to nationally-ranked Saint Rose…the Mavericks are 1-1-1 over their last three games, with a league victory over Molloy (2-0), a non-league scoreless draw with Philadelphia and a 5-2 loss to LIU Post this past Saturday…additional ECC wins have come over New York Tech (3-1) and St. Thomas Aquinas (4-0)…Mercy has limited 11 of its 14 opponents to one goal of less and is tied for first among ECC teams in goal differential (+14), having scored 27 and allowed just 13...MC's balanced attack features 10 players with at least one goal…juniors Jessica Carrillo (5 gls, 4 asts) and Danielle Deeb (3 gls, 4 asts) and senior Viridiana Ortega (4 gls, 2 asts) have paced the offense…senior Crystal Mena, who collected second-team All-ECC honors last year after registering a team-high 20 points (7 gls, 6 asts), has contributed four goals and one assist this fall…redshirt sophomore Nicole Augustine (0.91 GAA, 8 SO) has started all 14 games in net and made three saves in the 1-0 win over Dowling…she is tied for the league lead in shutouts.

DID YOU KNOW?: Daemen is 38-2-1 since the start of the 2010 season when it scores two or more goals...the Wildcats are 13-0-0 in the last 13 games in which they have scored two or more goals...Kacey Bougard is tied for second among the ECC leaders in both points (28) and assists (6) and ranks third in goals (11)…Kathryn Haessner ranks second among the ECC leaders in total saves (89) and fifth in save percentage (.832)…senior Samantha Engel did not play in the win over Alfred last week…she had played in every game (72 games, 69 starts) since the start of the 2010 season…Engel has totaled 93 career points (32 gls, 29 asts)…senior GK Rachel Reichart went the distance in the 3-0 win over Alfred last week and made three saves en route to her first career shutout…freshmen Kelly DuVall (Addison, N.Y./Addison), Caitlyn Grover (Canandaigua, N.Y./Marcus Whitman) and Cassidy Kozub (West Seneca, N.Y./Orchard Park) netted their first career goals in recent games...DuVall scored in the 4-1 win over STAC, Grover scored in the 5-0 win over SUNY Canton and Kozub scored in the 3-0 win over Alfred.

WHAT'S NEXT: Daemen has been selected to participate in the USCAA championship tournament which will take place Oct. 31 though Nov. 2 in Charleston, W.
