CLINTON, N.Y. - The Daemen College men's track and field team competed in the Hamilton Invitational held today at the Margaret Bundy Scott Fieldhouse on the campus of Hamilton College.
Daemen had several top-five finishers on the afternoon, highlighted by senior thrower Mark Fox (Dansville, N.Y./Dansville) who placed second in the shot put with a toss of 13.55 meters. Kyle Koehler of St. John Fisher College took first in the shot put with a toss of 14.25 meters.
Also performing well for Daemen was fifth-year senior Brett Smith (Ontario, N.Y./Wayne Central). The former Daemen cross country standout placed fourth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 16:24.56. Senior Corey Pepero (Orchard Park, N.Y./Erie CC) finished fifth in the 800-meters (2:07.90), while sophomore Travis Enser (West Valley, N.Y./West Valley Central) placed 10th in the same event with a time of 2:16.35.
Rounding out Daemen's top performers were freshman Robert Ralyea (Lockport, N.Y./Lockport) and sophomore Sam Rugg (Freeville, N.Y./Dryden). Ralyea placed third in the pole vault (3.80 meters), while Rugg came away with a fourth place showing in the long jump (5.79 meters).

Daemen returns to action Friday (Feb. 15) when it takes part in the RIT Tiger Invitational hosted by Rochester Institute of Technology.
