AMHERST, N.Y.- The Daemen College men's soccer team dropped their second East Coast Conference match of the weekend after suffering a 4-1 loss to Molloy College today at Dimp Wagener Stadium. With the loss, Daemen falls to 2-5-0 (0-2-0 ECC) on the season while Molloy (3-3-0, 2-0-0 ECC) remained unbeaten in conference play.

Hamza Elotman got the Lions on the board quickly as he scored an unassisted goal off a blocked shot in the fourth minute of the game.

Daemen answered In the 33rd minute when freshman Alex Reid (Lockport, N.Y./Lockport) put the Wildcats on the board  to tie the score. Reid
took a pass from classmate Matt Cordovani (Tonawanda, N.Y./Kenmore East) and beat the Molloy goalkeeper from the middle of the box.

It looked as if the score would remain tied going into halftime, but Molloy responded with a goal from Mario Gagliano five minutes later when he scored off a pass from Ibrahima Diarra.

Gagliano scored once more when he received a pass from teammate Nyder Chardonnette and tallied in a shot to the lower right corner of the goal. The Lions headed in a late goal from Mathias Coni off a pass from Dan Brown in the 88th minute to provide the final margin.

Molloy fired 24 total shots in the game and held an 5-3 advantage in corner kick opportunities.

Daniel Romer (Amsterdam, Netherlands /Plattsburgh State) made three saves between the pipes for the Wildcats in his first action of the season.  His counterpart, Justin Corke, made three saves to earn the victory for Molloy.

Daemen will look to regroup when they travel to Rochester, N.Y. on Saturday, Sept. 28 to play another conference game against rival Roberts Wesleyan College.  The Wildcats beat the Redhawks in double overtime 3-2 earlier this season in a non-conference matchup.
