Men's Track & Field 1/25/2014 6:45:00 PM Eustance, Rushok, Reid Pace Men's Track & Field In Season Debut FULL RESULTS CLINTON, N.Y. - The Daemen College men's track and field team began their second season of indoor competition today by partaking in the Continental Invitational hosted by Hamilton College in Central New York. Long distance runners Zach Eustance (Hilton, N.Y./Hilton) and Jeremy Rushok (Akron, N.Y./Buffalo State College) were on point today in the 3000-meter run. Eustance, a junior, picked up a runner-up finish with a time of 9:15.78 while Rushok finished in sixth (9:28.29) in his track and field debut. Joining the pair of runners with a top-10 finish was jumper Alex Reid (Lockport, N.Y.). The freshman, who spends his fall's competing for Daemen's soccer team, took third in the long jump with a leap of 6.35 meters, finishing 0.01 meters back of the runner-up - Josiah Thomas of Alfred State University. Also faring well was junior runner Zac Ekdahl (Middlesex, N.Y./Marcus Whitman) who finished the 1-mile run in 4:39.23, good for 15th place. Ekdahl also teamed with Matt Cregan (Syracuse, N.Y./Solvay), Ethan Dinan (Geneva, N.Y./Geneva) and Matt VanDeMortel (Geneva, N.Y./Geneva) to finish in 10th place (3:49.94) in the 4 X 400 relay. Today's invitational marked the first of four indoor events for the Wildcats in preparation for the East Coast Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships which are set for Saturday, Feb. 22 in Huntington, N.Y. The Wildcats return to action next Saturday (Feb. 1) at The College At Brockport Invitational.Print Friendly Version
