FLUSHING, N.Y. - The Daemen College men's soccer team saw its two-game winning steak snapped, as the Wildcats dropped a 2-0 decision to host Queens College today in East Coast Conference action at QC Soccer Field. Today's result drops the Wildcats to 5-6 overall this season, and 2-4 in the ECC, while Queens jumps to 4-7 overall and 2-5 in the league.
Aitor Gurruchaga put the Knights on the board in the 21st minute when he headed in Niklaus Maher's corner kick.
Queens added another goal, also on a header, in the 65th minute to give themselves some breathing room. Giorgios Thomatos' crossing feed from the left side found the head of Nicholas Matusewicz to put QC ahead by two.
Queens outshot the Wildcats 16-10, but the shots on goal were nearly even (6-5 in favor of Queens). Sophomore
Cole Beale (Hamburg, N.Y./Hamburg) led the Daemen offense with five shots, placing two on frame.

Matt Daddario (Amherst, N.Y./Sweet Home) took the loss despite making four saves.
Daemen looks to recharge its engines when the Wildcats face Molloy College this Sunday, Oct. 19 at 1:30 p.m.
