Men's Cross Country Returns To Racing At Inter-Regional Rumble

OBERLIN, Ohio - The Daemen College men's cross country got back in action today, competing at the Inter-Regional Rumble hosted by Oberlin College after a two-week hiatus from racing.

Junior Jeremy Rushok (Akron, N.Y./Buffalo State College) paced the Wildcats today, finishing the 8K race in 28:10.0 which was good for 39th place overall, out of 208 total entrants.

Next in for Daemen was freshman Matt McCann (Hamburg, N.Y./Frontier) who finished in 77th place (28:59.8).  He was followed closely by senior Zac Ekdahl (Middlesex, N.Y./Marcus Whitman) who came in 79th place (29:03.7).

Rounding out the Wildcats' top five today was freshman David DelValle (West Seneca, N.Y./West Seneca West) and sophomore Nigel Cordulla (Cheektowaga, N.Y./John F. Kennedy).  DelValle ran the race in 29:20.1 to finish in 89th place, while Cordulla finished in 121st place with a time of 30:01.5.

The event was not scored for team totals.

Unattached runner Ryan Millar won the race with a time of 26:23.2.

The Wildcats will close out their 2014 season on Saturday, Nov. 8 at the East Coast Conference Championships held on the campus of Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester, N.Y.
