AMHERST, N.Y. - The Daemen College men's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision at Dimp Wagner Stadum  to East Coast Conference opponent Mercy College this afternoon. With the loss, Daemen drops to 3-5 on the season (0-3 in conference) while Mercy improved to 2-7, (2-1 ECC).

The Mavericks received goals from three different players which were all in the first half. Roberto Dashi started it off for the visitors as he scored in the13th minute of the game with a shot to the lower left corner of the goal.

Mercy then got two back-to-back tallies first from Jonathan Garcia as he launch the ball from the far end of the field over senior goalkeeper Matt Daddario (Amherst, NY/Sweet Home) in the 29th minute. Three minutes later Danny Leon Jr. scored off a penalty kick to make it 3-0.

The Mavericks launched 21 total shots in the game putting 9 of them on goal while Daemen had two of their seven shots on frame. Mercy also held a 13-1 advantage in corner kick opportunities.

Daddario made five saves for the Wildcats while his counterpart Luis Lizarzaburu made two stops between the pipes for Mercy taking home the shutout.  

Daemen will get ready for another home match this Sunday (Oct. 5) against East Coast Conference opponent St. Thomas Aquinas College.  Game time is set for 1:30 p.m. at Dimp Wagner Stadium.
