Men's Track & Field Competes At Brockport For Second Straight Weekend

FULL RESULTS

BROCKPORT, N.Y. - It was another banner day for Alex Reid (Lockport, N.Y./Lockport) as the freshman racked up three more top-10 finishes to lead the Daemen College men's track and field team in their competition at the Golden Eagle Invite hosted by The College At Brockport.

Reid earned a fourth-place finish in the 200-meter dash (23.31 seconds) and added top-10 performances in both the long and triple jumps.  His leap of 6.71 meters in the long jump was good enough for sixth place while a 12.54-meter jaunt in the triple jump earned him seventh place.  It was the second meet in a row that Reid has earned a trifecta of top-10 finishes.

Reid also figured prominently as the leadoff runner of the squad's 4 X 400 meter relay team which finished in seventh place with a time of 3:35.06.  Teaming with Reid in the relay today was Zac Ekdahl (Middlesex, N.Y./Marcus Whitman), Nigel Cordulla (Cheektowaga, N.Y./John F. Kennedy) and Travis Enser (West Valley, N.Y./West Valley Central).

Cordulla and Enser added top-20 finishes in other events as well.  The freshman Cordulla finishes 17th in the 800-meter run (2:03.04) while Enser nabbed 20th place honors in the 400-meter dash (55.61 seconds).

Hunter Berry (Colden, N.Y./Springville-Griffith) had the only other top-10 finish on the afternoon for Daemen, earning 10th place in the high jump by clearing the bar set at 1.73 meters.  Pole vaulter Robert Ralyea (Lockport, N.Y./Lockport) cleared 3.95 meters for the second straight week in his event, good enough for 15th place today.

The Wildcats will get one more tune-up for the upcoming East Coast Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships (Sat., Feb. 22) when they travel to Central New York for next weekend's Hamilton College Invitational (Sat., Feb. 15).
