BOX SCOREALFRED, N.Y. - The Daemen College men's tennis team won an 8-1 match over Alfred University this evening improving to 2-0 on the young season.

The Wildcats took all three doubles matches and five out of six in singles competition. Junior
Gregory Lowe (East Aurora, N.Y./East Aurora) led the charge once again in the No. 2 singles slot, defeating Mike Graham 6-1, 6-3 after partnering with
Roberto Zambrano (Guayaquil, Ecuador / Broward College) in No. 3 doubles. Lowe and Zambrano defeated Pat Brown and Mike Wisniewski 8-2.
Mark Veitengruber (Rockford, Mich. / Rockford) teamed up with junior
Joey Gentile (East Amherst, N.Y. / Niagara University) to overcome Connor Doud and Graham 8-4. Veitengruber went on to secure a victory in No. 3 singles as he beat Kevin Volz 6-1, 6-4.
Sophomore
John LeMar (North Tonawanda, N.Y. / North Tonawanda) a long with
Adam Kerr (Penfield, N.Y. / McQuaid Jesuit) triumphed over Graham and Volz after saving two match points to win their No. 2 doubles match. Both defeated their opponents in singles competition as well.
Furthermore, the Wildcats got a win from
John Wilson (Seneca Falls, N.Y. / Mynderse Acad.) in No. 6 singles spot.
Daemen will travel to Pennsylvania this weekend to play in the Bloomsburg Invitational September 21-22.
