Men's Soccer Falls At LIU Post

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. - The Daemen College men's soccer team suffered an 8-2 defeat to host Long Island University post at the Pioneer Soccer Complex today.

With the loss, Daemen falls to 2-11-1 overall, and 0-7-1 in East Coast Conference play, while the host Pioneers, the No. 10 ranked team in the latest NSCAA Division II poll, improve to 11-1-2 overall and 8-0-0 in ECC play.

LIU Post netted three first-half goals, including a pair from Harry Pearse to seize control.

After Matias Ruiz put the Pioneers ahead by four early in the second half, Daemen's Cole Beale (Hamburg, N.Y./Hamburg) got the Wildcats on the board at the 63:46 mark.

Redshirt-freshman Jeremy Nand (Toronto, Ont./University of Charleston) would put one in for Daemen at the 86:25 mark to provide the final margin.

Daemen hosts Dowling College in another ECC contest this Friday, October 30.
