Lake Erie: Reni Lawrence is in her first season as the head coach at Lake Erie...she was promoted to the top spot after serving as an assistant during the 2015 season, and comes to LEC after assistant coaching stints at Hiram College, Case Western Reserve University and Myers University...it's her second go-round as a head coach, having previously led the women's soccer program at Ursuline College from 2000-06.   DAEMEN SCOUTING REPORT (0-0, 0-0 ECC) Daemen returns 15 players from last year's team that finished 7-10-1 overall and 4-5-0 in the East Coast Conference…eighth-year head coach Dan Dolan has his team coming off its most successful season since making the transition to NCAA Division II and the East Coast Conference...the returning core is led by junior back Rose Carboni who anchors the Wildcat defense...she was a third-team All-ECC selection last season...also back are six off the team's top seven point-producers from 2015, including junior forward Stephanie Zurales (6 gls, 5 asts, 17 pts) and senior midfielder Alexis Koral (5 gls, 2 asts, 12 pts) who produced double-figure points...Zurales' point total tied her for 11th among all ECC players...starting goalkeeper Meaghan O'Leary also returns after starting all 18 games last season as a true freshman...she finished third among all ECC net-minders with 87 saves last season...Daemen was picked to finish seventh in the ECC preseason poll.   LAKE ERIE SCOUTING REPORT (0-0, 0-0 GLIAC) Lake Erie returns 20 players from last year's team that finished 4-12-2 overall and 2-8-2 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference...first-year head coach Reni Lawrence's team was picked 10th in the GLIAC preseason poll...the Storm return their top two scorers from last season in junior forward Ashley Pryce and senior forward Elizabeth Awuah who combined for 12 goals last season...also back is sophomore goalkeeper Marissa Brannon who started all but one game last season, making 120 saves.   THE HISTORY Thursday's contest marks the third all-time meeting between Daemen and Lake Erie...the Storm have prevailed victorious in each of the first two meetings, including a 3-1 victory in Amherst last season...Alexis Koral put the home-standing Wildcats on the board in the 14th minute, but LEC's Alecia Dipre squared things at 1-1 in the 18th minute...after going to halftime tied at 1-1, Ashley Pryce scored in the 51st minute to put the Storm ahead, and Elizabeth Awuah netted an insurance goal in the 83rd minute to seal the win...the series began with a 1-0 Lake Erie win during the 2014 season...LEC's Kalah Sanders snapped a scoreless tie with just 7:14 left in regulation time.   THIS DAY IN DAEMEN WOMEN'S SOCCER HISTORY Sept. 1: Daemen scored a 1-0 victory over Sheridan College, their second one-goal win over the Bruins in as many days back in 2012, paving the way for their 11-9 campaign...Juli Prentice netted the lone goal in the Wildcat victory...Daemen got goals from Kelsey O'Leary and Janelle Masi but ended up on the wrong end of 3-2 decision against Buffalo State in 2011...Daemen picked up its first win of the 2004 season with a 1-0 shutout of Alfred.    ON THE HORIZON The Labor Day holiday (Monday, Sept. 5) has Daemen renewing its regional rivalry with Le Moyne College in Syracuse...they'll close out their season-opening stretch of four consecutive road games with tilts at University of Findlay (Sept. 10) and Tiffin University (Sept. 11).
