Annual Golf Outing Raises Over $30,000

AMHERST, N.Y. – On Thursday, August 10, more than 120 participants descended on Glen Oak Golf Club in East Amherst for the Fifth Annual Wildcat Golf Classic presented by RP Oak Hill Building Company, Inc., the largest fundraising event of the year for Daemen Athletics. This year's event, which featured a record number of golfers as well as a basket raffle and silent auction, raised in excess of $30,000 which will make a direct impact on the experience of Daemen's growing number of student-athletes.

"It was another great day at Glen Oak to celebrate the growth of Daemen Athletics, and all those who have played in a role in that growth," said Director of Athletics Bridget Niland. "This event can really be looked at as representative of the growth we've experienced in the last five years. Support for the Wildcat Golf Classic increases every year, and we're so very fortunate for the continuing support we've received, whether it be from individual golfers or our corporate partners. As we all know, it's a challenging climate right now for private institutions of higher education in New York State. Every dollar makes a difference as we continue to build Western New York's Division II team."

In addition to 18 holes of golf in a four-man scramble format, participants were treated to lunch and dinner, both catered by Salvatore's Italian Gardens, as well as beverages on the course throughout the day. Participants included Daemen fans, supporters, coaches, administrators, faculty and alumni.
