The loss was Daemen's fifth straight, dropping them to 4-8 on the season. Four of their five recent losses have come against regionally-ranked opponents, two of which were also nationally-ranked. Notre Dame, which competes in the Mountain East Conference, is also the No. 2 ranked team in the United Soccer Coaches Atlantic Region poll. The Falcons improved to 10-2 on the season an 11-1 all-time vs. Daemen with today's win. The Wildcats and Falcons are both former members of the American Mideast Conference during both institutions days as affiliates of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. Today's meeting was the first between the two teams since 2010. Lewis Norvock opened the scoring for NDC at the 21:42 mark. Arthur Favero's corner kick sailed into the box where it was headed on by Paolo Termine, eventually finding its way to Norvock who finished the play with his third marker of the season. Favero, the Mountain East leader in points and goals, got on the board himself at the 32:31 mark. It was his ninth goal of the season as he took a pass from Giulio bellei and ended up in a one-on-one situation with Daemen goalkeeper Philipp Schmidt (Lahr, Germany), sneaking a shot through his legs to put the hosts ahead 2-0. Just under four minutes later, Joao Pedro Ribbas' shot tipped off a Daemen defender and went over the head of Schmidt, making the score 3-0. David Torralba made it a 4-0 advantage just 16 seconds before halftime. He took a feed from Javier Mate and sent his shot from the left side of the box past the diving save attempt of Schmidt. Schmidt totaled five saves as the Wildcats faced a total of 28 shots in the game. He was relieved in the 66th minute by sophomore Jarrett Lecceadone (Randolph, N.Y.) who came on to make two saves in over 24 minutes of work. Daemen returns home, where they are 3-1 this season, to host Queens College in an East Coast Conference contest this Saturday, Oct. 13.
