Daemen Student-Athletes Get Ready To Wrap Gifts Purchased For Children Through The Adopt An Angel Program

S.A.A.C. Sponsors Adopt An Angel Initiative Among Daemen Teams

AMHERST, N.Y. - The Daemen College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) has led a coordinated effort for the college's 18 intercollegiate athletic teams to participate in an Adopt An Angel program this holiday season. Daemen teams have "adopted" 10 children through a collaboration with Baker Victory Preventive Services, and will provide holiday gifts to each of them. Baker Victory Preventive Services is an organization that works with families that are experiencing difficulties.

"We are grateful to have found a partner in Baker Victory Preventive Services for our Adopt An Angel initiative," said Hailey Dietrich, student-athlete success and community engagement coordinator for Daemen Athletics. " The holiday season provides a great opportunity for our student-athletes to give back to the community, and I'm proud of the way each of our teams came together to support this important program. There's no better feeling than seeing an expression of joy on children's faces this time of year."

Efforts from Daemen's student-athletes are in support of the mission of Baker Victory Preventive Services which is to preserve the family unit, avoiding placement of a child outside of their home.

The Daemen SAAC is a group of student-athletes assembled to provide insight on the student-athlete experience and to help drive the community outreach efforts of Daemen Athletics.
