AMHERST, N.Y. - Junior forward Jamie Boyar (Williamsville, N.Y.) of Daemen College has been named to the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II Women's Scholar All-East Region Team. It represents the first academic-based award of Boyar's career as she studies in Daemen's business administration program. The Scholar All-Region program recognizes student-athletes in their junior year and beyond that have maintained at least a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average, while also taking into account athletic contributions to their respective teams.

Boyar has racked up numerous individual accolades for her play during the 2018 season. She was previously named to the All-East Coast Conference First Team, the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) Women's Soccer All-East Region Second Team, and the United Soccer Coaches All-East Region Second Team. Boyar was the undoubted offensive catalyst for Daemen this season. She scored 20 goals and registered 43 points, finishing the regular season as the ECC leader in both. Her goal total established a new team record for a single season, surpassing Kim Walker's mark of 19 set in 2005, and it placed Boyar among the national leaders.

Her efforts helped Daemen to an 8-8-1 overall record, including a 5-4-0 mark in East Coast Conference play which earned the Wildcats their first-ever bid to the ECC Championship tournament. The five ECC wins are the most for Daemen since joining the league back in 2013, and the Wildcats have won at least eight games in back-to-back seasons for the first time since doing so in four straight seasons from 2010-13.

Boyar has appeared in and started all 50 games that the team has played over the last three seasons. For her career, she's totaled 37 goals, 10 assists and 84 points. She ranks second in goals and third in points among Daemen's all-time leaders. The Wildcats are 17-5-1 when she scores, and .9-0-0 when she scores more than once.
